Today we went to meet a hedgie breeder and pick out our first hedgie. We handled adults first, and the boys got all prickly with my hubby (who appears on this forum as scythefwd). But when we got the baby girls out, they sniffed his hands and started anointing! They absolutely loved him, even one who the breeder said was prickly for everyone else. We even put that one on my lap, and she crawled over to my husband's hand. She didn't like me that much, but I'll get over it.

She's a doll. Since she is bonding with your husband, you may want to get another girl for you....(that's what I would do ;) ) Okay, I may be a bit of a troublemaker here....

If I had the money, I would have bought both of the available girls. One that was great with everyone she met (annointed 10 seconds after she met me) and my hedgie (annointed 10 seconds after she met me):) I just dont have 300 to throw at animals at one time. Id also have to buy a second of everthing we alread own (even more money). The 150 I could handle. Julsie will get hers when we can afford a whole second setup and she wants one:) (Got a guinnepig today as well (free with all assessories because someones kids weren't taking care of it like the mother thought they should be)

Herbie, our first hog, fell in love with my husband and noone else. My son and I decided we would go to the pet store and buy toys and treats to bribe the little prickle ball with. There we met and fell in love with Snowball. He is a little honey who thinks anyone who holds him is lovely. Herbie has since learned to tolerate my handling and will occasionally crawl over and take a look at my son but still adores his daddy.
