These hoglets are almost 3 weeks old. What color do you think they are? I think the girl on the left is a choco chip, the girl in the middle a cinicott, & I am not sure what the correct term is for the boy on the right.

It might just be the contrast, but that little boy looks so dark! He's absolutely gorgeous! I didn't know hedgehogs could be that dark...

Maybe he's Algerian grey or dark grey or just plain dark grey. I'm pretty bad at colours myself but in the colour guide he has the same face markings as the Algerian one.

I also remember someone saying that their colour can change alot and it's hard to tell the colour until they're older than 4 months. I could have the age wrong though.

A hedgie's color can change until they are finished with quilling. My Suki was dark but she snowflaked with quilling and now she's quite light.

Being 3 weeks old you can't really tell yet. Usually 9 weeks is when you can get a better guess as to what they will be. I've had some EXTREMELY dark babies fade and it almost breaks your heart.

Awww, such a dark cutie, but yes most dark ones do fade to a lighter tone. But they are all so cute!

Break my heart, I really like the dark color. Oh well, he will still be my favorite, he has the best personalitie of the three. Thanks for the link Luna. That site has a lot of information on it.
