I'm Mark, I'm new here. I've got a couple male chinchillas, haven't had them long. One's a few months old and the other's at least two years old.
Gizmo's a pet/semi-rescue (wonderful breeder took care of him 'cause his owner couldn't anymore for some reason). He's hard headed and bold but very sweet and friendly. Nothing I do seems to scare him (but a lot I do annoys him). He's a hetero beige.
Locke is a pedigreed ebony kit of 3 months. He's still quite skittish but very sweet - he's recently started crawling up my arm to my shoulder and hopping into my hands to be carried. In many ways he's easier than Gizmo. He's black for the most part, with a beautiful long tail - a full inch longer than Gizmo's.
I introduced them cold, but I get the feeling that their scents might have been familiar to eachother already, as both were from the same breeder. They hit it off almost immediately - a bit of wrestling at first but no nips or injuries, and they slept cuddled up from the first night they shared a cage. Can't imagine an introduction going more smoothly.
Just hangin' out (http://www.triffeh.com/upload/chin/gizmolocke01.jpg)
Love the glowy eyes! (http://www.triffeh.com/upload/chin/gizmolocke02.jpg)
More chillin' (http://www.triffeh.com/upload/chin/gizmolocke03.jpg)
Dusty bathroom (http://www.triffeh.com/upload/chin/gizmolocke04.jpg)
Dust-covered Locke after my camera lanyard (http://www.triffeh.com/upload/chin/locke01.jpg)
About me: I'm a 'puter technician based out of my apartment in San Antonio, Texas. My hobbies include gaming (computer and tabletop), target & skeet shooting, learning to play the guitar, and outdoor stuff like camping, fishing, and rarely but sometimes hunting. Gizmo and Locke are my only four-legged housemates.
