Well, his quilly highness finally woke up around 11 pm and allowed me to take some good pictures of him.
Soooo cute! :hearts:

His nails look a bit long to me - I'm not looking forward to trying to clip those!

Irwin is adorable! And both of you are lucky to have found each other!!!!!!!!!! His quills look so different in each picture depending on the light, but they are nice and "thick." His face looks so sweet, especially in the first picture.

Wow! He is cute!!
Ya, his nails do look a bit long. I cut Spiny's weekly.
Just let him have a little warm foot bath, then you will see where the 'quick' of his nail is and where the cuttable part is.
You'll do fine... if not, have some corn-startch ready!

You make it sound so easy...
Actually, he won't let me touch him yet. I'm guessing it might take a week or two before he lets me pick him up, right? I was looking at the colour guide on hedgehogcentral.com, and I think he might be a chocolate. That description fits him better than any of the other colours. He had another active night last night, judging from the sheer volume of poo & pee that I found on/around his wheel this morning. He's currently burrowed under his liner, sound asleep. Every now and then he makes these little whuffling sounds. So sweet... :hearts:

Great pics. Maybe you should place a t-shirt with your sent in the cage so he will get used to your sent. maybe that will help the bonding process along.
Congrats!

Ooohh, good idea! I will do that as soon as I get home. He's so cute and tiny, and I want to snuggle him. :)
