Hello all -
Just a quick introduction, with many thanks for the excellent information that I have found here. Already cleared up many mysteries!! About a week ago, I brought home my first Chinchillas pair. A 1 year old Charcoal named Donut and a 4 month old Standard Gray named Duncan. (If you're from the Northeast, you get the terrible pun of their names - the condition of me getting the pets was letting my honey name them. Oh well!). Anyways, I've been absolutely astounded at what a pleasure they have been, and I think I have to say that I've lost my heart. I have even progressed beyond "human food dispenser" to something more like "human food dispenser who brings toys, and other things to entertain us, oh yes, and quite convenient to chew on!" which is very exciting. We had our first romp outside the cage (which I think was the first time they had ever been outside their cage - the ranch they are from is very commercial, not at all treating them like pets. They're getting used to things like hammocks and chewtoys and the like, and on the whole seem to be enjoying life in Massachusetts. Sorry for the long introduction - they are my favorite subject these days, it seems!
Looking forward to being part of the community,
Elizabeth (for Duncan and Donut) :ring:
