I've been snooping around on these forums for awhile and I finally made myself an account.
I'm Kat, I'm from Michigan, and I'm an artsy college freshman.
Last summer I decided I wanted to get myself an exotic pet, and after researching all the different types, I settled on the glorious and cutely fat chinchillas! I spent my summer researching the care and nature of them.
I finally bought a cage and I've recently been contacting a breeder in Grand Rapids about purchasing a standard gray male. I'll be picking him up in two weeks. I'M SO EXCITED!! During this two week period, I'll be chin-proofing my room and buying cage supplies and toys. I can't wait to order tons of chinchilla toys and supplies so I can spoil him!
I have two other pets, they're family pets. I have a dog (Samoyed, if you know what those are) and a cat. So now there will soon be two temperature sensitive animals in my house (my dog has TONS of hair, so once he starts panting in the spring/summer, the A/C goes on asap).
Oh, and my boyfriend and I have already decided on a name for him: Salvador, after the surrealist artist Salvador Dali.
You'll probably see me around. I really like these forums so far!
