I got an unbelievable pair of ariat boots brand new on ebay for about 1/2 of what they sell them for at a local store. I also got a used pair that might be what you are looking for - they were in great condition but a bit small for me so I never wore them (I am a size 11). Definetely check out ebay and I will look in the far reaches of my closet for you!

It really depends on your preference. When I rode horses (back before my back injury which keeps me from ever setting foot near one again) I had Ariat tall boots, which were real nice, good quality. For the paddock boots I had Derby Originals. Still have them, I use them for just, well anything, now, they're comfy, really well made, and really not that much money (even when you buy them new). Funny thing, I got mine off ebay, the link below is the exact same type I got....The great thing that I really like is that although they tie in the front, there's a zipper in the back, so you can get a really good fit and you don't have to mash your foot to get them on, you just unzip, slip the foot in, zip it & tie it up. I love em.

I find it funny... today we just went to the tack store to buy me some new size 9 paddock boots! Mine were Dublin because they fit best of all the brands they had there... And we got 25% off on all the stuff we bought! Yay for giant sales you pick from a fake pumpkin! (They had a pumpkin that you chose a little slip out of and you could save from 5-70%...) So yeah... If I ever get the chance to try on some Ariat boots I will, because they seem really good...

Uh....I think paddock boots are kinda general. The people on the horseback riding team at my college all seem to wear the same general kind of paddock boots (all pretty much similar to the ones in the link I posted). I know some western people wear their normal western boots in the paddock, but I don't really consider those paddock boots (and the two girls that do that are like super rich, so if they wreck those boots, no prob for them). I think paddock boots are paddock boots regardless of western or english. LOL. The link of the ones I posted are ones I know I've seen people ride english with, I can tell ya that much. :)
