for everyone to log into the chat room? I think I have been waiting for almost 20 minutes! I have dial up, I don't know if that matters. I am using the firefox browser with the java plug-in.

I have firefox, but Im on high speed wireless.
Its probably the dial-up...20 mins is a long time!

After I exited out of everything and restarted my computer and internet, it only took 4 minutes. I don't know what's going on with my computer. I got all the adwares and viruses fixed and now it's acting silly again. :mad: Darn it! http://www.chins-n-quills.com/jIRC/classes/applet_images/banghead.gif

It might not have been your computer. I have highspeed cable net, but have noticed that chins n quills has been acting up for me a lot lately. (There's a whole thread about it here). It will be VERY slow sometimes, and sometimes totally unavailable--only 30secs after I was able to use it just fine! I know it's not my net connection, as I will be able to go elsewhere with no problems. Usually a few mins later, it's working just fine again.

I have Firefox and DSL but my firewall is very leary of JAVA so unless I disable it while loading chat and then enable when chat is loaded, it takes a minute or so. But never 20 minutes, even when I was on dial up.

It's been acting up on me for months off and on. Often to the point that I give up and try again later. Sometimes I can't even get it to open, other times all will be fine for a while and then it sort of freezes. :dunno:

Yup, the site is free, and well worth any waiting/trying later that might happen! I wasn't complaining, just letting the original poster know it might not be her computer that was acting up :). Sometimes, I think it gets slower when it's really busy.

I am actually pretty sure it was my computer, and CnQ. After I restarted it everything was fine.
