Chin chewing...

i've had my chinchilla for about 2 or 3 months now. when i first got him he really didnt chew on too much. Now it seems like anything he can get his mouth onto he will chew...including my finger. Is he just going through a phase or is that how is going to be from now on??

If you don't already, you need to have some wood for him to chew on in addition to his pellets and hay. You can get stuff at the petstore or order special stuff like apple sticks from people on this board.

They are chewing machines! I get a lot of my chin chews from Pet Products By Nature (http://www.petproductsbynature.com). I've also used apple branches from unsprayed trees and gone to Home Depot for the end chunks of untreated pine.
