I came home from work tonight and found Miss Amelia curled up in her little hedgiebag. Sometime this morning or early afternoon, she made the trip to the Rainbow Bridge. She was 4.5 years old and my oldest hedgie to date. She was battling a URI and seemed to be on the road to recovery and we had an appointment this week to have her heart checked out again. My vet thought she might have congestive heart failure because things just did not sound as they should be.

I only had her for 6 months or so and she was the sweetest little pinto girl. She's with some great company so I know she'll be just fine.
Rest easy baby girl

Oh Tawana, I'm so sorry about Amelia. What a lucky girl she was to have you has her mommy for her final months.

Cinder, Pixie, Pagen & Kenya are there to welcome her.

You are a very special person and Amelia knows that. Pringle and Scoops are with her too! Scoops passed in his hedgiebag too. That warmed my heart since I was unable to be with him in the final moments...he knew his home...so did Amelia.

Thanks guys. While I wish she was still here with me, I'm glad she just slipped away and didn't struggle like my last hedgie that I lost. The girls seemed to know she was missing last night in the playpen. Annabelle even looked under the hedgie house that Nancy made for them to see if she was just hiding.
