This morning I woke up to find Friday 13th Hoglets born!!! :hyper:
She has I think 5. As far as I can see she is feeding them so I hope her new mom jitters from last time don't show up this time.
It will be a while before I can get photos of these hoglets. It looked like she tried to have them in her hedgiebag but it was to small so she moved them in the corner by her food dish.

Since Havanna is getting over the mommy jitters I dare not take photos from the inside of the tote but she is in full view from the desk.
I got these a few mins ago from the outside of her tote sorry they are not that great due to the tote.

As you can see she is being a wonderful mommy this go around! :hearts:

That's really great!
Um, I would probably turn off the flash though. I know that Spiny gets all upset with the flash (and he doesn't have any added stress such as little 'uns).

But congratulations! I hope they grow up happy and healthy!

I have never bred hedgies, and so am not positive but I think she needs a nest or a house to keep them in. Perhaps a kleenex box would be big enough. Maybe one of the breeders could jump in here and tell you for sure.

Does she not have a nest box or did she choose not to use it. Perhaps give her a small blanket to put over them. :)

She tried to have them in her hedgiebag but moved them out due to it being to small for all of them and her. She does have a igloo but does not want them in there. Havanna stopped using it about a week before she had them. She dragged her hedgiebag over to the corner and it is now under all of them. Her food is just a head lift from where she built her nest and the water is just on the other side of the food.

Now that I think about it even Tinks picked a corner to raise her hoglets the same corner.

Those are pretty good pictures even despite the plastic. She looks like she's a good mom, though it is funny that, in spite of what we think is best, hedgehogs always have their own ideas, and it usually scares us. Good luck m'dear, and I can't wait to see more pictures.

Havanna just could not give up her mealies! She was in a good mood.
So I sex the hoglets and got a few photos.

Mom and hoglets are now napping. Havanna has the biggest smile on her face.
