New Hedgie!!!

OKAY!!! I just got my new , and first!, hedgie home. I wanted a girl originally, but I fell in love with a boy! He's a light cinnamon type colour, I'll have to get pictures and as the real name of the colour he is! But they had albino, and dark grey salt and peppery one, and this lil guy was sleeping in the corner all by himself. My dog seemed to have picked him out, because I hadnt even seen him until my dog started pawing at the cage (tiny dog, cant do much damage, not viscious at all, he licks the hedgie like crazy, loves him!) His name is Pepsi Larue, he's 6 weeks old, he loves me already, a tiny bit huffy, I am in love in love IN LOVE!!! SUCH a gorgeous lil man! I got him home, and let him crawl around on my sweater, he went right for my hoody pocket. After prying him out of there (to put him in his cage) he was too cute for words and I let him crawl around a lil more, heh. And where did he go? Up to my shoulder, into my hair, snuffling about, and then, he nosed his way into my hood! He slept in there for half an hour, and I finally just got him out and put him in his cage. He ventured around, sniffing everything, and was just about to go under the liners! I quickly put his hedgie bag in there, and he sniffed... sniffed... recognized it, and ran right in. Poor lil guy had a busy day, can't wait until tonight!

He is too sweet for words! He's gotten a bit huffier since I got him, but that's understandable, the guy is grumpy from the busy day and all the new things and just wants to sleep. Also, the quilling process probably is bugging the lil fella. The only thing wrong with him is he might have dry skin. How can you tell if his skin is dry if you have no hedgie knowledge at all? And how do you fix it? Aveeno oatmeal wash right?

Oh wow, I just read that some hedgehogs really don't like people at all (don't remember who it was, it was on a nail trimming thread, and they said the hedgie still curls up every time they enter the room) I am soooo happy my guy is the way he is. I was still worrying that maybe he wouldnt be too friendly, but he's climbed all over me, lets me pick him up, even hopped into my hand once. Today's the first day I had him, and having to introduce him to everyone was a bit much, he's sleeping good now though, poor guy.

congratulations..I imagine you´re very happy...to have a hedgie is a beautiful experience...i think they make magic over us...and then, we can´t stop to love them, never in our lives.
