Just wondering if anyone supplements their hedgie's food with fish oil? I give my Shih Tzu Grizzly Salmon Oil because of all the health benefits from the omega 3's. I'm thinking about giving my new hedgie, Twinkie, some salmon oil on top of a few of his kibbles. Does anyone know of a reason that I shouldn't?
Here's a link to the supplement:

I was also thinking even stinkier poop. I use Flax Seed Oil from time to time. My hedgies love ANYTHING salmon, but they can clear out a room in no time flat!!!

I have given salmon oil and cod liver oil to my hedgehogs and it really seemed to help improve their skin and quill coats. For mine I added a couple of drops of oil every couple of days. I never really noticed any change in their feces smell. Although, I switched to "Missing Link Supplement" many years ago because it is easier to administer.
I try to start with a low amount at first and watch for any stomach upset. To me it is a diet change and should go slowly.
