treats??

is it okay to give hedgies baby food or peaches? just curious....we have special treats just for hedgies, but i was wondering what kind of variety we could give him. also: how do i get chuck to not use the bathroom in his hedgie bag? it's like he never wants to leave that thing! i'm at a loss! it just makes for a really expensive luxury for him because i have to keep buying them! what to do.......???

You certainly can feed chuck baby food or peaches-- in small quantities of course-- fruits and veggies(mostly cooked) and cooked unspiced meats are also alright to feed! But not all hedgehogs will eat "treats"-- I really wouldn't reccommend the "special" treats just for hedgehogs-- they are usually no good for them anyhow! But I don't know if were talking about the same type of "treat"! Besure to only try a small bit at a time and only one new food at a time- to many new things will upset your lil guys stomach! and I'm sorry I have no advice about gettign him to stop going potty in his bag-- I've never had that problem here-- have you tried washing them instead of just giving him a new one?? you can soak them in a vinigar solution to help with the smell and make sure to rince then very well!

well, i tried baby papaya, he didnt like that, so then i tried a real banana, and he loved it!!!! i think we have found something he likes!!! finally. maybe that will help him like us more!

congrats!! my marigold wont eat anything except her kibble--lol
glad you found a treat he likes!! Just remember to feed it in moderation!
