Note: These are not my chinchillas.

My ex-boyfriend contacted me yesterday saying that he needs to "get rid of" his two chinchillas. He tells me that if they are not gone by this weekend (Sunday or Monday) he will take them to the shelter.
There is a TOV ebony from Debbie Seward in Ohio.
There is also a White Mosaic from Gloria Mills in Pennsylvania.
They are both pedigreed, by I honestly could not tell you if my ex still has the pedigrees. I would guess not.
If you take them both, I think the cage would come with them. I am sorry I do not have all the information. As you can imagine, I did not really want to talk to him for an extended period of time. I am only trying to do what is best for the chinchillas. I would take them, but I don't really have the space or the time.
Please let me know as soon as you can if you can help out. PM me and we can discuss an adoption fee.

Are they males or females and do they need to stay together? Are they caged together now?

Oh I'm sorry I forgot that information.
They are both boys. They are caged together now. I think it would probably be best if they stayed together, as that is what they are used to and there is only one cage, but I dont think it is absolutely necessary.

Where in MD are you located and how old are they?

I am located in Columbia, MD...but the chinchillas are located in Gaithersburg, MD. I'm not sure if he wants me to pick them up or something, but I would think he would be able to transport.

I am about an hour from Gaithersburg. I am concerned with adopting two chinchillas- to get my fiancee to approve of one was a mission.

Could they be housed in seperate residences? I am interested- but not wanting to take two. We don't have the cage space or the room in our house. :-(

Hopefully there are some rescues in that area that can take them both. Separating them at this point, when he is threatening to drop them at a shelter, would only help one and leave the second one to an uncertain fate. Not to mention separating a pair of chinchillas that are probably used to being together.

Maybe contact Angel on here and see if she can point you to someone who can help you out.

Hello...These are my chinchillas..Im Wahnsinnig1220s ex boyfriend. Heres the deal. I need to get rid of these chins and these forums wouldnt let me start a thread...I live in gaithersburg and have no time for my lovely chins. They are 2 boys. I want them to go together...to a good home. I can drop them off but drive a small car and the cage doesnt fit. Its free and i would prefer you pick them up. If possible. Thank you and hope to hear from someone.
