A high quality cat food like blue buffalo spa or Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul. they are more expensive than the typical Iams, but your hedge will only eat a couple tablespoons a day so it will last you a long time :)

There is a list on here somewhere of good foods to feed your hedgie, I'm not sure what the link is though, but you can probably search it pretty easily.

Important to remember: do not buy anything marked as "hedgehog" food, or buy anything that has a picture of a hedgehog on it just because it has a hedgehog on it. Do tons of research before making any purchase relating to hedgies, as pet companies rarely seem to know anything about what's good for them.

A mix of 2 or more high quality lite cat foods is best. No iams or science diet. In my mix, I have CSFTCLS, Wellness, Solid Gold, and Natural Balance, though may have to get rid of the Natural Balance as it does not come in trial sizes. The best thing to do is memorize/write down the brands you see in that thread and mentioned other places, and go to your local pet store and see if they have any in trial size bags. Mine had wellness and solid gold in 2-3 ounce bags, and CSFTCLS in 1.5 lbs bags, so I lucked out with those and it won't go stale as I only have a small amount at a time.

If you do buy a bigger bag seal up the cat food and freeze it. It will stay fresh. I posted a list of cat foods that are acceptable for hedgies... but owning a hedgie also means researching and choosing the foods you think is best for them and each hedgie has their own favorites....
