Hello,
Unfortunately my father and family have come to the conclusion that we can no longer keep our chinchillas. We will be moving into a new city that says we cant keep them along with our cats and dogs. Because we have a limit on our animals and how many we can have i have been looking desperately for a place i can give them that will take care of them better than the local pet stores. I live in Blue Springs, MO and have to remove them from the house and our family as soon as possible, before October 19th if humanly possible. If not then they will go to the petstore, or worse (My dad hasn't told me what "or worse" is, but i'm assuming something like put down or...terrifyingly...let go. My dad doesn't understand Chinchillas, nor their basic care and needs.)
Because my dad doesn't know their care he was holding one of my chinchillas, a beige female named Sugar by her torso. She wriggled out of his grasp and bit him and he "dropped" her so hard she broke her leg. I think her Radius and Ulna both are broken and have tried to make a "make-shift" splint out of band-aids because my dad wont take her to the vet. As much as i love my chinchillas, they need a better home. A better life.
So i come to you in hopes that i can, in some small way, provide a gift for my two babies. I have lots of bedding i can give as well as a dust house, water bottle, and glass food dish.
My little girl, Sugar is very sweet- a little cow-eyed, but loving and kind. Because her leg is broken she's a little bit grumpier than usual but, honestly, she's so sweet. My boy, Rosco, is a small 1 yr old mosaic. He's SO beautiful and i bought him with my birthday money earlier this year. He's such a sweety too and loves to ride on my shoulder and hide in my hair. He's never bitten me.
I love them both so much, but they need rescuing so badly. My best friend has agreed to let them stay at her house until October 19, and she lives in Blue Springs, Missouri. I have to get them to a new home before we move or my dad will "take care of the chinchilla problem." Please help me.
Thank you,
May Marshall
