Looking for a female dachsund, already housebroken, age does not matter but prefer adult, must be good with children and other dogs.
I have searched and searched but they are difficult to find. If you are in New Jersey or within an hour or so drive from Burlington County, let me know.

Check out Doxie rescue shelters. Often times they will have them or know other networks. In fact I am adopting another Doxie from one tomorrow after work!! :hyper:

When I was considering a dachshund for a pet, this lady was really helpful. I know that she has some of her adults for sale. But she is located in kentucky, however she does ship if you are interested. Just thought I would try and help.

Here's her site.. www.grendoxdachshunds.com

Just wanted to add that she is a really good breeder, and has many friends who also breed dachshunds across the country. Check out her site and get her e-mail, and I'm sure that she can help you out.

yes i have looked and they are definitely a resource. unfortunately my grandmom doesn't want to have to have someone search over her house to approve her for a dog. it's not that she won't be a good home, but she doesn't want the run around for a dog. this is what we have found with rescues. :-(

Yes, this is true. But often rescues come from bad situations and they are ensuring it won't happen again. Besides, all they come do is chat with you and make sure you are acceptable for the personality of the dog. It's not like they pull out the couch to see what is hiding under it!! yes i have looked and they are definitely a resource. unfortunately my grandmom doesn't want to have to have someone search over her house to approve her for a dog. it's not that she won't be a good home, but she doesn't want the run around for a dog. this is what we have found with rescues. :-(

I don't know about you but out here most rescues don't do a home check unless you are adopting a pit or pit mix.

I'd check all the adoption websites because it will usually say somewhere on the adoption contract/page that they do home searches or not. The ones out here just ask for refrences for them to call and a vets phone number.

I've never had a rescue come and check my house before addopting a dog....I've adopted at least 3 from a pound(i cant think fo anymore right off my head) but I've never had a home inspection. If you get it from like a humane society, or something, theyre not going to. They have better things to do. But if you get it from a specific Doxie Rescue, they might....

Yes the doxie rescues and the rescues we've called do. That's why we are visiting pounds and humane societies.
