Maybe you should see if you can have one very similar made... the pattern actually look fairly simple.

I know it's your special day when you get married, but I just can't see spending even $400 on a dress you'll only wear once... let along over $1000, that could pay for your whole honeymoon!

I paid a $1000.00 for mine 13 years ago. And it's still hanging in it's garment bag at my parents house :dunno: A lot of money to have hanging in a bag. But I knew it was the one when I tried it on.

It's just so hard... if I buy it before Thanksgiving, they'll take $300 off... and that price includes alterations and pressings. I don't know what to do.

I figure that if i can get it before Thanksgiving, it's $1400. With alterations (which would have been about $300)... well, it's like spending $1100 on the dress, which isn't *that* bad.

I've got to find a way to justify it.

Uhm wow, my alterations cost my $50... she took in the sides, put in cups, added boning, hemmed the bottom in the front and put in the hooks for a bustle. Not to the big mean tight ...butt here but isn't there a cheaper dress you like almost as much? I'd definately ask a seamstress what she'd charge to make one like it... I think this dress shop is making a very pretty penny of you...

Dont panic! Look around maybe you can find it somewhere cheaper. You still have a couple weeks. Dont feel pressured into buying it at a certain place.
I totally see why you love this dress though, its so beautiful. It looks awesome on you.

I found this dress that I bid for on ebay and I'm thinking I can have a seamstress add some of the great things about the original dress on this dress (this one's only $50, so if it doesn't fit, I can sell it, no tragedy):

That one should be pretty easy to alter to make it close to the first one, but remember its not going to be EXACTLY the same.......

Oh, I know, I'm just going to take bits and pieces of the first one and put it into the second one (the sash is really what's important to me).

Do you guys think it's do-able? Do you think the train can be unbunched?
