My new and first hedgie!

These aint the best pics but she wouldnt let me get any of her face she isn't use to me yet because I just got her today. I hope it doesn't take her a long time to get use to me though any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks.

Someone here suggested to me that I should put one of my old (unlaundered) t-shirts in with my hedgie to get him used to my scent. It seemed to work quite well for us! Your new little one is very sweet, and I'm sure she'll warm up to you quickly. :)

:rofl: we put shirts in with any of our new hedgies. They seem to warm up to my daughters first. Holding them any chance we can get. Talking to them when ever we are in the room. Havanna will follow you around the room when we let her.

Don't worry it just takes time to get use to new sounds, smells, and new hands picking you up.

She is actually doing quite well for her first day. She is not in prickly ball. That is great sign! She just looks a little shy so handling every day and letting her get to know your smell and she should be a great pet! :applause:

actually after i took them pics she started to curl in a ball and then she hissed at me and jumped at me lol but she let me pic her up for a few seconds today b4 poking and hissing at me ive only seen her curl into a ball 2 times since i got her i tried to get a pic but she uncurled and crawled into her hedgie bag
