I would start with reading the Hedgie FAQ's.
Hedgies are very different from chin care. They require fresh foods, a good quality mix of kibbles, higher heat requirements. Vet bills are more expensive. Cages should be as large as you have space for. My hedgies are out every other night for some playpen time and everyone has a wheel in their cage. I clean their cages at least 2-3 times a week as opposed to weekly for the chins.

You need to know ALOT, more than could fit in one post. Food=2 or more high quality cat foods (search to find specifics); housing=atleast 2 sq feet, 4 or more is better. Sterilite tubs work wonderful and you can connect them; temp 74-80, 76 is best for most hogs, though some like it hotter. Exercise= wheel is a MUST. Half an hour of play time is generally okay. Wheel should be cleaned of the piles of poo daily. Vet=search around for stuff about vets. There's so much to watch out for. Be very careful. Where to buy one= please don't buy from a pet store. A hog from a breeder is most likely 1) cheaper 2)healthier (meaning less vet visits) 3) on the right food and many other things. Bedding= liners, IMO, are best, but you can use pine/aspen/carefresh too... but liners are sooo much easier and cheaper and safer.
That's a few things off the top of my head, just skimming the top. The key to having any happy, healthy pet is research, research research!!!
