I posted a question about deciding whether my hedgehog was pregnant or not, and it has been confirmed today....she is the mother of at least three. I have not touched her or her babies, so I hope they make it and she doesn't eat them because she's such a young mother - 4 months or so.

Just try to not bother her. Give her food and water, and her space. Wait until the babies are about 2 weeks, then if she is not too protective, you can start handling them briefly.
Congratulations on the babies!

Congrats on the babies. I agree since she is so young only put your hands in her cage to feed and water her. Around the 2 or 3 week stage if your hedgie likes mealies try using those to draw her away from the hoglets so you can have a look see.
Congratulations. :) And good luck!!

whoa 4 months is really old, I've read everywhere that you should wait until 8 months. I just hope the mommy and babies will be fine.

Please remember to remove her wheel if she has one and you haven't already. I hope things go smoothly for her (and you too!)

Here are some pictures of the proud and very tired mother along with her babies. All seem to be healthy. We're on day 8, so it will be 2 more days before I get an official count. The unofficial count is 4 hoglets for the time being.
