I like the first dress, I'm not sure why. I just think it looks better than the second one.

Neither, compared to many of the others you have had. But really, you need to calm down! :) Pick a dress, and take all of the time you're spending looking for "perfect dress #287" and do something good for your community and your own blood pressure. (and I'm not trying to be rude, just encouraging you to look at the broader spectrum of the world)

No, I completely understand.
There's just been something wrong with each one. Ideally, I'd like to keep the one I already have, but I have no idea how to hem it.

In addition, the "perfect one" I found a week ago was not perfect for my price range, so I had to try again.

Trust me, I would much rather spend my time doing something else. I drove an hour to get to the bridal shop today.

Although, on a positive note, I let a girl work for me that's pregnant and really needs the money :)

I like the first one... definately not the second. I think the first one looks good on your body... okay that sounded weird. Can you post a pic. of the one you already have? Surely there is a way to hem it...

Okay, I found the pictures, too many dresses I couldn't remember. TWO thoughts...

Well firstly find a seamstress. NEXT you can make it into an A-line and split the front where the pattern split and have a shorter panel put in so you don't trip.
OR, you can have them cut it at the waste and bring the whole dress up... how to get rid of the odd seam there? Well you could do a "princess cut" like a v-shape, or have them put a sash on. I seem to see that a lot in the dresses you're picking.

I'm going to ask you this... do you have your:
hall?
place for ceremony?
caterer and menu?
wedding party?
wedding colors?

If not, do some of those take a break on the dress, you're over stressing about it my dear...

Here is a picture of the front of mine so you can see the split... yours would be smaller.

Are you wearing shoes in that pic? If not it almost looks like you could come to JUST the bottom of the emboirdering with a hem.
