Maybe I've just acquired different theories in life but I do have a pet peeve... stolen threads, especially sale threads and compliement threads.
I think it's just plan rude, inconsiderate and tacky to take over someone's thread... if I'm telling Jane that's a beautiful chin she has for sale and asking how much it is, you don't get on and say hey I've got one JUST like it for sale too! It doesn't stop there either. Personally I've seen people take things I've designed and sell it, I even have had people BUY my stuff to use it as a pattern to make it and sell it! Needless to say because of this I'm VERY paranoid at helping people with questions on how to even if it's just for their own pets now... it only takes one rotten apple to spoil the pie...
But if someone's selling something, you just don't get on it and say hey I/my friend etc. sells that too... or even worse sells it cheaper... who cares! So why don't they post their's for sale?!

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but if someone else is getting compliments, unless it's undeserved (like selling something they bought but claiming they made it) why can't people let them enjoy their little bit of time in the lime light? Why do they have to butt in and say hey, I have that too or I sell those too?

If I ever get caught doing this I certainly hope, and even ASK, that someone call me on it, because I don't want to be that person...

Well said Nicole, I do completely agree with you, even though I never much paid attention to it before, since you've brought it up I have & I do take notice to it now & I agree, that's just rude.

I have seen this done several times in the chinnie supplies section, I've also seen it done on normal threads. What it boils down to, is that people just don't have any cooth anymore. It's either about the alimighty buck, or someone, as you stated, just being plain rude. I do my best not be an @$$ right on the first go, however I'm not one to normally set by and let someone blantantly disreguard me. I'm not into smear campaigns but, I can make sure I get my point across.

Bottom line is, just like Riven stated, don't be rude. Use the manners you should have recieved as a child, and don't step on toes!

It's also a real thrill for the mods, who have to spend a substantial part of their day deleting all those "chatter" posts in the classifieds. It is MOST annoying when it is the same people doing it over and over again, in direct violation of the rules for posting to classifieds. It's nice that someone has a chin for sale, but what are you contributing by posting "Oh, I LOVE him, too bad you're so far away." If they are too far away, why are you cluttering up their ad with useless comments?

lol oops. Guilty as charged tunes.
But I have to say I completely agree with Riven. Not only is it rude, but its disrespectful. Riven, you should put a patent on all of your stuff, then no one could take it, and if they did, yo ucould be rich because of copyright infringment, or something :)

This may be a problem area! ;) Good thinking on the "should"...

There's nothing wrong with the he's so cute thoughts but PMing is a good option! Everytime someone posts a cutie post it takes the thread further from the point, the chins/items for sale and in the end most people who are interested don't want to have to sort through 3 pages of how cute posts just to find out who's sold and who's for sale... Although I HAVE done that a few times...

That's so true though...especially for people who have a lot of chins for sale at once in one thread, like JAGS. One of their threads I went through, I was trying to find their posts where they would say "S159 is sold" so I would know which chins were still available from their main list and whatnot... Half the posts were "Well you can't have R450, he's mine!" and "Oh he's so cute, I'm going to stick him in my pocket!" and then it takes 10 times longer than if there was just the original post and then postings saying these few chins are sold....

Not that I've never posted that a for-sale chin is cute (I keep it to a bare minimum though), but I swear it's the same people on every one of those threads....keep that to the talk section where people post their chin pics people...THEN you can gush on how cute it is all you want....

I HATE trying to file through posts like that
