So, he's gone. Executed this morning. What's every one think of this?

I personally think he should have been taken to Guantanamo Bay for a while, but at least now there's no chance what-so-ever that he can do any of the horrible things he did anymore. I don't know how I feel about the METHOD of execution, though...

I think they should have just thrown a grenade in the bolthole where he was and saved everybody a whole lot of money and headaches.

I have no qualms whatsoever with his execution. I'm also glad the sentence was handed down by an Iraqui court and carried out by the Iraqui people. It needed to be done by the people he committed the crimes against if that country is ever to stand on its own.

He actually was killed last night. It was confirmed at 6:08 a.m. baghdad time that he was dead, which was 9:08 central, 10:08 eastern, 8:08 mountain and 7:08 pacific(in case u couldnt figure it out LOL)
I have no problems with the way he was killed. I would have done it in a much more vicious way however. Something like, give all the mothers and fathers whos children have died in this war, a knife, and let them have their way with him, but not to kill him. It would never make up for the pain that has been caused to the families, but I bet it sure would be a start! Sorry, I'm grusome sometimes. I have no issues with his hanging, I would have been more creative with it though ;)
I agree with TAF. I'm so glad it was the iraqi people that did it themselves and not the US, but that doesn't mean there won't be huge problems with the U.S. now. A lot of people are going to be upset with us, even though we didn't actually "do" it.

I agree with TAF.
I for one am happy to see someone so evil is gone. In the trial videos you could see the pure hate spilling from his eyes. Im sure its going to only be a matter of time before they release a video of his execution as there was already a lot of talk about how people werent going to believe that he was dead until they SEE it.. Seeing is believing i guess.. I for one will not watch, but im sure many others will.
Heck, i wouldnt be surprised to hear that video has been released already.

Personally, I feel that his "trial" was little more than a kangaroo court. Sorry to say it, but the accuser cannot be the police, judge, jury and executioner. They should have found an independent third party to hold the trial. They likely would have come to the exact same result, the evidence was pretty undeniable, but I don't think it was tantamount to anything better than mob justice as it happened.

I agree, I'm glad that this was done by the Iraqi court and carried out by the Iraqi people. There are so many things that he has done that the news media has not reported on, that you actually have to search for. I was reading about this last night after the execution, and I was still amazed at how people are perceiving this as some "personal vendetta" by Bush because Saddam threatened Bush's "daddy". And I thought, do you people honestly believe this?
All the horrific details I was reading about that the Iraqi people are coming out and are not afraid to talk about now, the torture chambers and mass graves that have been found, the chemical weapons he has used on his own people...
Horrible, horrible.
Maybe now there can be some healing. I'm not sure if the people there will know how to get along. They have lived a long time under his iron fist.
I feel very proud that our country had a part in taking an evil man like this out of power.
