Hi Koon,

A female's cycle occurs every 28 to 35 days and usually lasts 4 to 7 days. When in heat, the female's vagina will open up and there may be a whitish discharge from the area. You may also find a heat plug in the cage which will be approximately 1/2" in length, whitish in color and look like a small plug of wax. During this time the female may be able to become pregnant if her mate tries to breed with her, but it is not definite.

You can also watch the male for signs. When the female is in heat, the male will sometimes dance around and switch his tale back and forth. The female will also "growl" at him and he will chase her around the cage. When she is ready, the female will let the male know by different means, sometimes this is to spray him with urine.

Hope this helps!

Very cute bleu.... Yes, it's probably good that we don't behave like chinnies when we "do it". Things could get a little messy.
