Oh man! You have good taste in anime! I had Ranma 1/2, Tenchi, Vampire Hunter D, and Petshop of Horrors on VHS back in the day too! Check out the Petshop of Horrors manga series if you get a chance. It immediately went into my pile of manga that I'm not selling before my move. :)

Nice! I'd also recommend The Tarot Cafe if you haven't read it yet. It's very similar in that it's made up of shorter supernatural-type stories... but the protagonist for the "main" story is female instead. It's still in the process of being released... volume 5 just came out last month and I have yet to buy it.
