H! i was wondering which type of cage is the most popular in Hedgehog owners. Could you also post a picture of your hedgehog's cage if you can?And if it is a pet-store cage, can you post a link where you got it from?
Thanks you in advance!:high5:

I have a homemade cage that was built to house four hedgehogs. Nancy helped me with the design... heavily. I'll try to take a picture later on.

I've used them all.
A sterilite bin:

It was a bit on the small side, but so was Hemi, so it worked out great. When she got bigger, I upgraded her cage to the C&C model. I kept the sterilite one around for a quarantine cage.
C&C cage:

This one was huge. It had about 5 square feet for her to play around it. Since I had to fit it on a wooden stand, it was narrow, but long. I used this until I got another hedgehog, and upgraded to a store bought, slightly modified Midwest Ferret Nation cage. The C&C was then transformed into a huge playpen.
Ferret Nation, two level:

This is my all-time favorite cage. It was a bit pricey ($300 CDN) but well worth it. It's secure, easy to move and gives each hedgehog lots of room. It measures about 3 feet long by 2 feet wide, so that's a pretty ample amount of space for a single hedgehog to have. To make it baby safe, I cut strips of coroplast and 'sewed' them to the inside of the cage. The coroplast goes up to the first horizontal bar of the cage. Smaller pieces were sewed onto the door, as to not compromise one of the main selling points of this cage -- the completely open front when the doors are open. To make the coroplast more attractive, I found some waterproof contact paper in black to match the cage pan.
Note: The two level Ferret Nation comes with one pan with a hole in it to set a ramp. Since I didn't want to pay over $50 for a pan, I asked my dad to fix up the hole for me. It doesn't look pretty (we used part of the hard plastic that came with the half shelves and duct tape, but it does the trick. I covered the area with left over contact paper to blend it in. The litter box sits over top of the area anyway.
If you have any questions about the Ferret Nation cage and modifying it, PM me. I can take pictures of whatever you want.

I use a combination of them all... Cherry blossom has a sterilite bin. Marigold has a large store bought cage, not exactly sure what its called but it's a plastic cage with an open top for ventalation. and Darwin has a store bought cage (he came to me with his cage, he just finished his quarentine period a few days ago and was put in the "hedgehog room" on friday!) I also use a large C&C playpen for them, I don't have any picture of it unfortunetly because it isn't set up right now-- but they love it-- I put a bunch of TP tubes, cats toys etc in there and they'll be entertained for hours! (supervised of course)
He's a few pics of their cages, so you can get a better idea. (the cages are Not in their normal spots for the pictures- and please dont mind the mess we are in the midst of packing)
This is Cherry blossoms sterilite bin:

(Had to post in a new reply because you can only post 5 images)
This is Darwins cage:

(and taken just before he was put in the hedgehog room with his new wheel)

Keep in mind they are out of their cages ALOT!... they are only in them through the day while I'm at work, while I'm sleeping and while they are sleeping-- they are out for at least 3 hours a night each! sometimes the girls are out even longer because they can have playtime together!

I use super pet 'my first home' large. Here's a link to it: http://www.petguys.com/-045125602220.html
I don't like the modified plastic bins very much as they are harder to clean & don't have as good ventilation. Same with the glass aquariums.
C&C cages are great, but I have found that they cost more or as much as a very large store bought cage.

I use this cage (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444178 1611&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302047888&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1185151314619&itemNo=0&In=Small+Pet&N=2047888&Ne=2) It has lots of room for huffy and I modified the wire bottom so he is not walking on it.
