I was wondering what the best cage for my future hedgie would be.

I voted C&C just because I like the fact you can easily customise the size plus it is totally cheaper than a pet store cage. However if I could of voted 2 times I would have also gone with the sterilite bin. it is easier to keep warm and less drafty. It is also very cheap. I keep one on hand just in case I need to transport him.

I had to vote for a C&C cage just because I have one! LOL. We had a petstore purchased cage when we only had Marty, but when we decided to add Roxy, adding another huge cage in our room wasn't an option.
We built a huge "hedgie tower" that houses both hedgies, separately of course! The grids let us customize the size and shape, and allowed us to basically design it to our own needs. The coroplast tray was really easy to work with and is pretty easy to maintain.
I'm the same as Ursula tho, all of the cages have their pros and cons. Sterlites make great cages because of the warmth factor, and they're cheap. Ventilation can be a problem and if you have other pets, they're not as safe and require some modification. Petstore cages are great, but often expensive. In our case we didn't have the space for a huge cage to sit on a table, but if we had the same, we probably would've gotten a large plastic based cage.

I don't know about the BEST cage, but my all time favorite is my modified Ferret Nation cages. I added coroplast sides just to make the cages baby-safe and closed up the cut out on the second level pan. They work great, look good and are easy to move and keep clean. It was cheap for me, as I only paid $20 out of my own pocket for it. The rest of the balance came from a joint effort of my family members. It was a Christmas present for me and the hogs. I'll be buying another one before long.
My favorite runner up are the C&C cages. I absolutely love Lisa's cages but being able to change them so often would drive me crazy. I'd be constantly rearranging and rebuilding. haha. I used a C&C for a while before I got my Ferret Nation and really enjoyed it.
Sterilite bins are great too. I still use mine as a temporary/quarantine cage for new hogs.

At the moment i have a C&C cage but i think a sterile bin would be a bit better if you have time. Since its alot easyier to attach tubes and other bins together making a pretty nice and entertaining home! But usually bins need good ventilation soo be prepared to drill some holes if you decide to use the bin. :)

IMO, the absolute best cage you can get is a Marchioro. They open from either the top or side so they are easy to clean and you don't have to worry about them escaping.
I worry about young hedgies slipping through the C&C cages holes.
I use a lot of steralite bins because they are cheep and easy to clean.

I agree with Kelly I have 4 huge Marchioro cages for my females that live in small groups and they are fantastic. Solid bottom with a high plastic side and easy opening from the top is very nice. I do use steralites for my males and moms to be because they are cheap and easy to modify.

I have a marchioro cage & sterellite bin. Both work about the same in my opinion.

First time future hedgie owner and I purchased a Marchioro cage but will be attempting a custom sterilite cage as a backup and if it turns out well, primary housing. Worth a shot for like $15.
