I feed Mazuri. I've never had any problems with it in the 3 years I've fed it to my chins.

It's all personal preference- I have fed both, I had problems with Mazuri (soft poo, not eating much) so I switched. Not everyone experiences these problems but I have read a few stories.
In my experience of switching to Tradition, my boys have gained weight, and I may just be crazy, but overall look better. They eat a lot more than they did on Mazuri..and I personally haven't read many stories of chins doing bad on Tradition. :dunno:

But, it's really your choice. :) I think more people tend to recommend Tradition over Mazuri, just because of the problems Mazuri has been known to cause.

I fed Mazuri and switched to Tradition. My chins eat more and look better eating the Tradition.

I used Mazuri for years as we couldn't easily get Tradition in WI. Once that wrinkle got fixed & I switched, they eat better & I think I've seen better growth from birth. Plus it doesn't hurt that it cost 1/2 as much as Mazuri ...as 200+ lbs a month it is a big difference in my feed bills.

I used to feed the chins Mazuri and then I expanded, and expanded, and expanded some more. At that point it got impractical for me to keep ordering Mazuri offline and having it shipped, I was paying like $1.60 a pound I think? So I switched to Tradition, and I think I pay something like .40 a pound now and when you have alot of chins its much more practical. The second reason I switched, is because I know alot of the "bigger ranchers" use Tradition - and I figure these people have been in chins almost as long as I've been alive so they're doing something right :)

I've fed Mazuri. I was not happy with it. I've heard a lot of wonderful things about Tradition.

I'm currently using Mazuri also, When I got my 2 Chins they were on Charlie Chin, YUCK! I started putting a stop to that right off the bat, but I have seemed to notice that their poo's do still seem a little soft.

I went with Mazuri because I can buy online and also get it at PetSmart if there is a Problem with an order.

Where is everyone getting their supply of Tradition?

Tradition for a lot of the same reasons. Empty bowls, weight gain, more cost effective. I never had a problem when I used Mazuri and had fewer chins. It made no sense at all to pay twice as much for Mazuri when I could get a bag of Tradition :)

Ditto everyone above. Used to use Mazuri, now feed Tradtion for various reasons. Weight gain, better coats, firmer poos, cost effective, and now, availability.

Bob - There is a Hubbard plant that mills Tradition right in Minnesota. They mill mine for me, and another breeder with quite a few animals. They usually do two tons at a time; he takes half, I take half. They would be happy to mill more if there was more of an interest in the area. I have been trying hard to get them to expand even further west as I know of several people out that way with a good number of animals who would be thrilled to get it.
