I was wondering if anyone has play pens for their chins? Or has looked into getting them. What did they run for cost?
I was thinking about carrying some in the chinstore, but didn't know if it would be ideal or not.
Thanks!
ETA: I didn't get the poll set-up I guess! So please just list your answers.

I have a playpen for mine. I made it though because I couldn't find one that would work the way I needed it to. It probably cost me about oh, $35-$40 I would say. But it's just made out of cardboard, nothing spectacular. :) I would love to see what is actually manufactured for a chin play pen.

I have one that I use because my chins destroyed my bathroom!!! It is really tall, don't know exact measurements, but it is really tall and they can escape! So I have to cover over the top though!

I have one.... it's a Marshall Pet Small Animal Pen. http://www.petco.com/product/10792/Marshall-Pet-Small-Animal-Pen.aspx
Got it at Petco for $70, then bought a 3-panel extension (around $25) and a top and bottom (around $25 each). So total was about $145 total? Well, a little extra cause I had to have the extension panels and the top/bottom shipped to me....
It's nice and big, but really not as cheap as I would have liked... Don't get me wrong, I like it and the chins like it.... I kinda wish it was taller...

It's hard to find ones they cannot escape out of, and they tend to be small. So once you find a playpen, you often have to add extension packs and tops. This seems to be how they get expensive.
I've been all over the web this week looking at them, and there isn't anything cheap and ideal that I can find.
The best solution I can find is to get a dog playpen, because they run wider, thus avoiding the extension panels. Then build a roof, or a half roof yourself, thus avoiding buying a pricey top and paying shipping.
I'm thinking of getting http://www.digitpet.com/product_group.cfm?cid=1001,2006,3015&pid=12032M and attaching something like cardboard or metal around the top to prevent them from jumping out. Sort of liked a barbed wire fence around a prison, only um, obviously not barbed wire. Of those, this page also sells a top for $30.
For a bottom, I'm thinking of getting a piece of that hard plastic that goes under desk chairs and cutting it to roughly the right size. Also industrial carpet is flat enough that they likely wouldn't chew. A piece of cheap carpet that size isn't very expensive, and can be folded up and stowed away when the chins aren't playing when you want your home to look like people live there.

I have one and it's great for small kits that haven't started flying yet - Once they get there jumping down they can easily escape. All of mine started in it when the were little and were out of it in a month or so. I like it and hate it at the same time. Now I use it to block off parts of a room and not for containment.

OH! That's a great idea! That plastic has little gripper things underneath too that keep it from sliding all over the floor. :hyper:

The openings in the dog ones can be too wide. We have one and it I've used it before only to end up chasing them back when they try to pop their heads out!
I can get the Marshall's brand play pen's, so that is the one it would be.

I have the Marshall's one that is about 3 feet tall and has the cover/floor mat thingy.
It's on here: http://www.marshallpet.com/marshall/mp_sm_homes.html (Small Deluxe Pet Play Pen w/8 Panels + Mat/Cover)
I got it on Amazon, it was about $40 for the pen and $12 for the mat/cover thingy.
I usually use the mat/cover as a mat when I have Frankie in there, so I can have free access to hand him toys and get in the pen with him. He hasn't escaped... He has tried but I don't have anything really high in it, so he doesn't have much to repel off of.

Ohh, good point. The one I linked is only 1.5 inches wide, too wide? Half inch wider than their cages.
