I was just pondering which of these hot items are more widely used.
Do you use a hammock, a hut, or both for your chinchillas?
Currently i have been offering them both, but the hammocks always seem to win their approval paws down.:applause:
I do have a few that would rather be in the dark huts instead, but those are my shy bunch.

Well I have both and the hamocks deffinantly are used more then the house. The only thing they do with the house is run thru one door and out the other, and chew on it, they never sleep in it.
I don't have a hut/house yet, but we'll be building the fuzzies one or two when we make the shelves. Chinta currently LOVES sleeping in her tube, and likes to play and eat in the hammocks.

Oh, i did forget to add ledges to my post. lol
I have a few that choose the wooden ledges over the hammocks too! I find it odd. lol
My chinchillas basically just chew or sit ontop of their huts as well.

Ever since I got Flurry a fleece tube from Heidi, he rarely if ever goes in his hammock or house. Before the tube he definitely preferred his wooden house, but the past three afternoons, I have found him lounging in his hammock. But I voted for neither since he definitely favors his fleece tube.
I have tubes, rock ledges, hidey houses, hammocks, tents and they seem to rotate during the day where they like to sleep.

Let's see, hidey houses, hammocks, tubes, ledges, chiimineas, tikis and fleece houses. Chimineas are the winner here., one even sleeps on top of it.

My new chin only sleeps in the hidey house. My older chin sleeps in his hidey house during the first half of the morning, then he moves to his tube to sleep for a few hours, then he moves to his hammock to sleep for a few more hours. They never sleep on the shelves or ledges, nor do they sleep in the tiki house (that I know of).
