Sadie threw up in her carrier when we went for a walk. Could it be that she was motion sick from the rocking of the carrier? My last hedgie never had a problem with being moved around...

It’s entirely possible. My boy, Cuda, has horrible motion sickness. Simply walking around with him in my arms causes him to become violently ill. Luckily, he’s getting better and I’m finding that he doesn’t get sick if I cradle him against my chest rather than carrying him in a hedgehog bag. Car rides induce some of the THE most foul diarrhea I’ve ever had the *privilege* of smelling.
Perhaps if you know you’re taking your hedgehog for a walk or extended trip, don’t let them eat an hour or two before. That may help them out a bit. HedgeMom also suggested giving the animal a pinch of pure ginger to settle the stomach. It won’t hurt them and may help calm their poor little tummies. I haven’t yet tried it on Cuda, but HM knows everything, so it must work.

Irwin used to have terrible car sickness. Not only would he vomit, he would poop everywhere and get it in his quills. Nothing helped him, poor baby. I tried to only take him in the car when absolutely necessary.
Ronnie, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be affected by it. She threw up on the ride from her old home to my house, but never again. That girl has a cast iron stomach!

She hasn't thrown up since, so I think that must've been it. I'll keep an eye on her just in case though. I'm hoping it's just the motion sickness and not the stress from moving to a new home.
