As my boyfriend and I will be moving to California in two weeks, we need to find our hedgie a new home. I'm willing to adopt her out to an individual or surrender her to a rescue.
Miss G.G. (Grumpy Girl) is a little over a year old (DOB: 6/12/2007). She is a chocolate hedgie from First Harmony Farms in Loveland. She was originally purchased by two college students that decided they no longer wanted their hedgies once they got an internship in California, so my boyfriend and I took them in. GG's sister has since been re-homed.
GG is not a cuddly hedgie. She doesn't mind coming out, but she stays curled up for quite a while before investigating. She doesn't really like to be handled. She does baths well and nail clipping is fine, but she'll let you know when she's done being handled with a bite. She has bit my boyfriend several times, but has never drawn blood. She did not do well when housed with her sister, so she should probably be housed separately. I personally think that if my boyfriend would have brought her out more, she'd probably be more comfortable being handled and relax easier. She deserves to be with someone who understands her personality and will spend more time with her.
G.G. and all her supplies are $30 ( 2 plastic wheels, 2 plastic water bottles w/ hangers, 2 plastic litter boxes, remainder of her cat food, hide log, and fleece). She was checked out by her vet last week and is in good health. Her ears are a little ragged around the edges. The vet said there were no outward signs of mites or anything else that might cause that. The couple that owned her first said she was born that way.
I am willing drive a couple hours in any direction to get her to her new home. We will be taking I-80 West into California and would be willing to meet someone along the way if they decide they want her.
Please PM me or reply here if interested.
