Micro Machine was one of the boys who came from the house with 30+ chins. He had microopthmalia ( still can't spell it) and reoccurring eye infections because of it. I must say his quality of life was not great. I had to limit dust baths or do them manually which would still somehow infect his eye, and keeping the eye cleaned and infection free because of the size was near impossible.
I honestly knew he wasn't a happy camper but he seemed at least content. After separating him from his sister he got worse, depressed and started going down hill. We kept her in a cage next to him and they would try to cuddle through the bars. I felt bad for taking her away but didn't want to risk the chance of pregnancy. After she left though he was a wreck and no other chin would do.
I was thinking of putting him down but really wanted to get experience with this and see if we could do something and turn it around. I got super attached as well and decided more then likely he would spend the rest of his days here.
I had him up on our site as a pre adoptable SN* chin but turned down everyone and never took his picture down. I guess it was just to give us hope in a way.
This late morning I checked up on him again, and thought he was sleeping. He likes to stay in a plastic house he never chews so I let him. I went to pet him to give him some love and well.. he was pretty stiff so he must have passed last night.
I am heart broken, I have only had him for so long, but got so very attached and would do anything to help and save him.
He was blind and we believe deaf as well. We would have to stomp a foot and tap the cage before we went in as to not startle him. ( feeling the vibration)
I will miss this little guy terribly! :cry2:
