What age are they 'safe'?

I just have a question about hedgehog babies: at what age are they usually 'safe' from their moms eating them? Is it at 2 weeks? 3? Or will she cannibalize them at any age?

Mom's usually only cannibalize very new babies but they can kill them up to 5 weeks if they get stressed enough. Usually after 2-3 weeks they are ok but it all depends on the mom. Some moms freak and will kill babies over the least little thing. Others you could do just about anything with mom and babies and she will continue to be a good mom. It all depends on the mom and doesn't even matter the personality of the mom. Some of the most laid back calm girls become absolute head cases when they have babies. :laugh:
