Quarantine her for at least 30 days and keep her away from Scrat at all times.

You will need to keep her in quarantine for at least 30 days. You keep them separate to ensure that she doesn't bring a disease (or mites!) into your current animals. Ensure you don't handle her then your other animals without a thoroughly cleaning. Scrat had mites before, so you should remember how bad that was...

Remember that having them in two separate areas during quarantine means that you need to keep both those rooms warm enough which will mean a second heater. :)

Amanda, congratulations a the new hedgehog. If I were to get a hedgehog, I would want an albino one, too. I think they are very pretty. I hope you are going to be able to afford to keep her room as warm as Scrat's room for the winter. I remember what a tough time you had last winter but maybe with you having a job now it won't be so difficult for you. And believe me, you aren't the only one having money problems. Do you plan on keeping the job through the winter? I know it was harder for you to work in the winter as you walk to work, if I remember right. Also, PLEASE make sure there are no accidental breedings with her and Scrat. It would be very wrong to breed two pet store hedgehogs and it would be TERRIBLE if something happened to the girl Hedgehog while birthing or if she ate her babies. Just love her and Scrat as the wonderful pets they are and take the very best care of them. I know babies are cute but so much work, money and sometimes heartache goes into breeding. It is so much more fun, relaxing and cheaper to just enjoy pets as the companions and beautiful animals that they are. It is so great to come home from work and relax with your pets than worrying about babies, are they nursing, is the Mama okay, etc. I am not scolding you, I just wanted to remind you to ALWAYS keep Scrat and the new girl separate. You don't need any stress as it is. And don't forget the quarantine. You don't want to spread anything between the two. It may take a while for mites to show up if she has them, or any other disease for that matter. What a hassle that would be! Then you would be having to treat two sick hedgies rather than just one. Have fun with her and I look forward to pictures as I love albino hedgehogs.
