New Babies This Morning!!!

We had a litter born this morning! I have been checking every morning for the last week and they have finally arrived. Heidi, the mom, was out of the nest box, so I lifted the lid a bit to see if any babies were in there. There was a small pile of babies!!! During the 1-2 second peek, I thought I saw 4, but then I got head-butted and I took that as a not so subtle hint to leave. So I did. I will keep you updated on the babies!!! Pics too when I have them.

Heidi's nest box is clear, and I noticed that one right up against the side was blue this morning. Through the day, it never moved. The mother was very protective of it, but I got advice to go ahead and remove it from the nest. If it started to decay, and its smell got on the others, the mother might kill all of them... So I did remove it, and my son and I buried it.

On the bright side, there are 5 still alive. We are having fun thinking of more H names for them, but won't have names set until they are sexed in a couple weeks.

We are taking H name suggestions if anyone would like to give us any.

I've never seen hedgies that young! So fascinating. I'm glad most of them made it. I like Hagrid for a name. . Hehehe.

If you go with the Harry Potter theme, you can add Hedwig to the list and Hermione for girls.

haha harry potter names are great!!! and you could use Hufflepuff!! and that would just fit a feisty hedgie anyway :) there is also professor Hooch is you need it

My son LOVES the Harry Potter theme, so we may go with that or save it for the next litter. Here's the problem, one of the people on the waiting list for one of these babies wants a female and all of their animals have breakfast food names. She wants to name her baby Hashbrown. Can any of you think of 4 other breakfast food names that start with H? Or at least other foods that start with H?
