I think SuperPet has little interest in the best interest of our super pets and a great interest in their bottom line.

In general I don't think they are great, there are a few things that they make that are okay. Is there any product in particular you are wondering about?

The one thing I do buy is the lava bites. I would say that for the most part a lot of items just aren't safe for chins (and a lot of other pets).

I used to buy the lava bites, but my chins devour them in one night. Two of my boys can kill a whole ledge in about a week.

I rarely find any anything worthwhile buying at most pet shops in the way of chews/toys. I have bought the packages of apple sticks in a pinch as well as the three-pack loofah circles but that's about it. I like the lava ledges and the giant willow balls though.

Your best bet is to check the classified section b/c a lot of people here make their own toys and they're very reasonably priced.

I look every time I go to the pet store but I don't see much that is practical. Some of it so over priced and relatively easy to make. I do like the lava bites for the hamster and for my one chin. The other chin likes the wood sticks better. A super pet cage even looks so cheaply made and is so over priced. I do have a pretty nice glass super pet water bottle that I got probably 2 years ago for my hamster but I can't find one like it anymore.

The lava bites/dots/perches/ledges are the only chew from Superpet I think is safe for chins, and chins in general really seem to like them much better than regular pumice stones. As for cages, they can be used if modified. I had a Superpet ferret cage that I really liked - it had plenty of openings to get in the cage, and the pan was so deep that shavings rarely got out. You just have to mind the plastic.

I agree these are the only things from them that I trust.

Some items from superpet are wonderful and some are horrible. You just have to watch what you buy, If you can't get enough info to make sure they are safe, don't buy it.
