Okay, I am interested in starting a chinchilla railroad. They have one for sugar gliders and I thought it would be REALLY cool if we started one for chinchillas. I've heard that alot of people feel uncomfortable with shipping and some people can't afford shipping. The railroad is a group of people who will drive partway to deliver a chinchilla. If you get enough people, we could deliver chins for really cheap and without the stress of shipping. Is anybody interested in starting one? Please let me know, I think it would be quite an efficient way of transportation. Let me know what you think or if you have any comments or questions about the railroad. Thanks for reading.

The only thing I would be concerned about is the stress level of the chin. A long drive like that with unfamiliar people could be too much for some. Other than that, good idea. :)

you can also e-mail me if interested in doing a railroad(since it was both of our ideas) :) i would
think it would be less stressful on them to go on alittle longer car ride than on a hot plane.alot of people(including myself) don't believe in shipping small animals because of the stress and i think this would be a great alternative for those like me that don't believe in shipping, can't afford it anyways, and have a very hard time getting chins in our area/state.

I've actually used a railroad to get chinchillas from Indianapolis to Pennsylvania. There was no "established" railroad, though, so I just emailed all the animal shelters along the way and asked for volunteers. By some miracle it all came together, but it would be a TON easier if there was already an established railroad. I can cover from Chicago to Indianapolis easily and possibly further.
