I think the idea is to feed good quality pellets, lots of hay & give a little bit of supplement. I feed Cub a chinchilla mash that is made of wheat bran & crimped oats. She gets one pinch a night with her pellets. I don't think Calf Manna is a great idea from what I have heard though.:chin5: :chin4: :blob1:

I suppliment with a oat blend from chin world-I would only use manna for young or pregnant chins-most good quality feeds have enough protein in them so a healthy older chin will not need manna.

I think the kline's supplement is a good one.... Its a treat but with calcium and other stuff to supplement your chins...

Used to feed it to them every 2 to 3 times a week in the morning but feed now give it to the mum chins and the baby chins every morning as the baby is just 1 month old and the mum just give birth to the baby not long ago... Is it alright?

we've started making and selling our own....
it includes wheat brans, oats, a vitamin c supplement, a calcium supplement as well as some other healthy stuff... our chins love it and scarf it down as soon as i give it.

I make my own, it includes equal parts of

old fashioned oats(the kind from the grocery store-not quick cook)
oats(from the feed mill)
barley(steam rolled-from the feed mill)
wheat germ
powdered milk
gerber mixed baby cereal

keep refrigerated...I feed 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon 4-5 times per week, just sprinkle on their pellets :)

If you feed kline or mazuri you should not need supplements. To much of a good thing is not a better thing. The balance in the pellets is good enough for most of the chins out there. I would only give my chin a supplement if a vet, that know exotics, told me to. Then i would question it. According to mazuri their feeds is complete and no suppliment is needed. Which means their own suppliment too.
