Okay, I have a hard time understand what is the bedding that all of you recommand: Pine, Aspen, Carefresh ?
I actually use Aspen, but this is because some of you recommand it, why exactly ? is that better for the chin ? in that case, why ?
And what about pine, it's cheaper and safe for chinnies, but is that not that great for them as a bedding ?
And can you tell me more about Carefresh, because I really don't know what to think about it, I don't know why it doesn't look safe to me !
If you use or used an other one, could you let me know what you think about it !
Thanks, so many questions !!!!

I've used Carefresh but it's exspensive and very dusty. Since my chin's cage has a wire bottom there is really no reason to spend so much. I also have used newspaper, which is cheap, convienient and resourceful. But, ona regualr basis I use Pine bedding for all of my animals because it costs less, you get alot, and it does the job!

I use carefresh whenever I can afford it because it is more environmentally friendly (in my opinion) and it does a really good job of absorbing pee.

I use pine. There's a place near me that sells Carefresh REALLY cheap, but my girls enjoy chewing on the pine shavings, and I don't think they could do that on the Carefresh, and besides, if they did, I'd worry about possible blockages.

I tried carefresh and thought it was dirty and dusty. I use kiln dried pine.

I always used kiln dried pine and never had a problem until a few months ago. One of my chins was getting a constant runny eye, and it didn't clear up til he went to his new home and we learned that my "100% pine" bedding actually contained some cedar shavings. So, while I like pine, be careful that its what you're really getting :)

I have figured out through trial and error that my Jelly Bean is actually allergic to aspen shavings. I never liked it either. When the aspen gets in the carpet I always found the little pieces to be very sharp. I like pine a lot better, it is much softer. And since when they are on the bottom of the cage they are on the litter/bedding I much prefer them being on something soft.
I have now learned that Jelly Bean is allergic to Kaytee pine.
Carefresh is much to expensive. The couple of times I used it all my boys did was eat it!

I use aspen because it has hardly no oder and in inexpensive and my chins won't eat it. I dont like carefresh because of the oder, it gets soggy and mine think its a treat.
