Last year I developed a very bad allergy to dairy, and I also am supposed to stay away from soy as well. I was wondering if anyone has any good recipes that that are dairy and soy free, if so please post them. Thanks!

Kendra--

Is it a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance? Sucks either way!
I'll look through my cook books and see if I can find some
suitable recipes!

Best wishes!

My niece who has a dairy allergy uses recipes from these two sites and when I have dinner at her house the food is always excellent:

I can relate. My daughter is allergic to milk, soy, & rice. I'll look in my MSPI Cookbook tomorrow for you.

I can relate. I am allergic to dairy. My sister is allergic to soy, and my parents/sister are vegetarians. So cooking is, well, interesting. I use a LOT of olive oil instead of butter. I also use applesauce sometimes in baked goods instead of butter. If I am not mistaken the Dunkin Hines boxes are dairy free, not sure about soy. I just use olive oil. Quick cake. Their buttercream frosting is even dairy free. Not sure about the soy though there. Hmm . . . I need to go put my thinking cap on! A good stir fry anyday in my book w/some beef or chicken and veggies with olive oil, garlic and what ever I feel like throwing in on top of pasta or rice is good. I do a lot of english muffin pizzas minus the cheese. OH we also do a lot of french bread pizzas and customize. Onions, garlic, artichoke hearts, black olives w/some really good pizza sauce on thick french bread is good. (droool). Rice milk is getting better so just start experimenting and seeing what it tastes like. We have had more than one flop over here! Good luck, and I will see what else I can come up with.

It's been a good 6 months since this thread was last commented on... but I'm bumping it up. Any more of these recipes out there?

I've got an allergy to milk. They tried giving me the lactose pills, and the lactose free milk, and I still got sick. I can handle soy though. :)

Hi,

I too suffer from lactose-intolerance and an allergy to milk, soy, eggs, and tomatoes! :banghead: It's very frustrating finding good and healthy things to eat. In addition to that, I don't eat beef or pork products. I haven't found any "good" recipes yet. My mom makes an awesome chicken enchilada with mexican rice. :slurp: My family has done their best to work around this. It sure is difficult for everyone. My sister can't eat garlic either! I am not sure how to make the enchiladas and rice on my own, but plan to learn soon. It's something that you can add cheese to so the whole family can enjoy!

I have been trying Amy's products for quick meals.

Good luck to everyone and if I come across some good recipes, I'll post them. Oh, I also have found that Duncan Hines Brownies are dairy free, I think they might even be soy free. I thought the only allergy item was wheat. Boy were they good, a great treat!

I make a lot of grilled and baked chicken and sandwiches.

Take Care,
Chilly
