Pixie was a "not so cuddly" hedgehog due to her curious habit of biting people and hissing like a tigress. But she was, nonetheless, a spirited hedgehog with a will to live that amazed us all. There were several times in the past that I almost lost her and she always came back stronger and more determined to reign as Pissy as ever. This time, however, her frail body just could not fight back like it had before. In recent weeks she has lost an alarming amount of weight and become lethargic. She passed quietly yesterday afternoon, safe in her favorite box. She would have been four in June.
She is survived by her two children, Ozzie and Lizzie and her hedgehog gang: Kiko, Zoey and Chloe. We won't be the same without her.
Goodbye, Pixie, keep on huffin' up there with Puff Daddy.

I'm so sorry Pixie is gone. At least now she is free from suffering and she'll always be with you and her hedgie family. I know how tough it is. My Shadow sounds a lot like Pixie, very hard to "get-to-know". He's been having some health issues recently and I just start crying everytime I think I might be losing him. He's huffy, but he's also a character. I don't know what I'll do when I lose him, so I can't imagine how you feel now. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. At least you can rest knowing she is in a better place being taken care of by all the hedgie babies that passed before her. She was awful cute and I understand exactly what you mean about her not being such a cuddly hedgie and more of a hisser b/c my oldest Zoe is that way and I love her b/c of it. It's nice to see that she was very loved and will be very missed. Take care!

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this awful time. Think of how cute she looked when she was grumpy. That should put a smile on your face.
