This is a great vet that I highly recommend. He isn't terribly close to us, but we prefer him over the vets that are close to us. You may have seen him on TV already because he's the vet that's in Emergency Vets (or is it Animal ER? I forget)

P.S. We did try Dr Fitzgerald but the first visit was after hours and he wasnt' there (and apparently wasn't consulted, either).

Sorry to bump an old post, but I just wanted to add that Homestead is EXCELLENT with all exotics. We take all of our critters there because they are knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and what little they don't know, they will find out for you. I highly recommend Dr LaBonde, as well as Dr Summer (also at Homestead.)

I would also like to recommend Dr. Bobbi Hafer, also at Alameda East, who is also an exotic vet with chinchilla experience. She has seen both of my 2 chins when Dr. Fitzgerald has been out of town.
