I'm still new to the sites, but this may be the reason I've noticed that there is decreased responses to ads posted on this forum. I really think that a small membership fee should be charged (even a little something would keep the riffraff out of here), if for no other reason to ensure the safety of the chins that are going to new homes. I also really feel that a good questionaire when becoming a member about your experience or lack of with chins would be helpful. Again, its not about us guys, but getting good loving homes for our babies!! I've also noticed that although I may get a lot of replies at times, none or few seem to be very serious buyers. :|

I've noticed this too....doesn't make you uncomfortable, almost like you have no idea what they are thinking? If they can't afford to buy the chin, they can't afford to care for them correctly. Or you have to wonder if they aren't going to turn around and sell them to God knows who. When you have chins, they become like family and you don't want anyone just taking them. :banghead:

I also got a higher quantity of responses to the CW classified. In that quantity there was a proportional increase in goof balls. You know those people we all love to hear from. "I only have $2, can I have your show quality TOV White Ebony? Also, can you drop her off at my doorstep, I live in Siberia?"

Well said Michealsmom :applause: I totally agree !

How many members would be willing to pay a small ad fee ?

Possibly we may be able to get the site up and running .

I really think that a small membership fee should be charged (even a little something would keep the riffraff out of here), if for no other reason to ensure the safety of the chins that are going to new homes.Unfortunately, just charging someone a membership fee isn't going to ensure that the home a chin is going to is a good one. It's a nice thought, but not practical. Anybody can pay the fee and still be a bad home.

I know there aren't very many large breeders on here who sell chins, but I would bet the one that is on here regularly would not be overly thrilled to have to pay to sell their chins. I myself have never posted a chin on either chinworld's classifieds or here, so I can't say that one is better than the other. I generally sell mine by word of mouth. Not that that won't change of course as more and more babies come, but I don't have a basis for comparison yet.

I think as far as my original comment about membership fees, there are good and bad points of course, but someone who is seriously wanting to sell or buy would be willing to pay a little something for the forums and services provided on here (this MAY cut down on SOME misinformations as well). But seriously, not matter what happens on here, we all need to take active steps to ensure good placements. I think a questionaire would help out and that could be added to profiles for viewing. Kind of like ebay, with reviews?? What do you all think?

I like Amanda's comment - and agree with it.

Headline on chinnie news - "Forum Administration goes AWOL."

Agreed, Peggy. LOL :)

This is a nice debate, but the Admin of the forum will probably never see it.
