Knowing that the ChinWorld classifieds have been down for some time now, I was wondering what you all feel about the responses/forum/ searchability of these two sites in the area of CLASSIFIED ADS ONLY.
This is just for the sake of debate, and hopefully, will be a friendly, constructive discussion.
If any of you have any tips or suggestions for using and making ads, this would be the time to post those. THANKS! Larry

i don't know if you've had this larry, but i've noticed, i'm hardly getting any responses on chins now that they're listed on chins-n-quills only. i got more responses on chins for sale from people that found the ad on chinworld.

Ditto. I have three chins that have been for sale for several months. I have gotten several responses, but no where near as much as I got when ChinWorld Classifieds were up.

I too liked chinworld classifieds better. I have noticed that there are some people that respond to every ad on here. They will respond if they are halfway across the country and the person says no shipping. I wonder if they respond to "earn posts". I miss having the chinworld classifieds available.

I also had good luck with the ChinWorld ads. We used them for around 4 years before they went down. Perhaps people searching for chins on the internet were more drawn to a 'For Sale' type of site, and don't immediately think of a discussion forum as a site to look for chins.

I also recieved more responces when Chinworld classifieds was up and running and seemed to rehome my kits easier.

I loved the Chinworld classifieds, a lot of people who are not members of the forums used them. I had more interested parties for my chins, and overall, I just found them to be more attractive. I miss the Chinworld classifieds :(

I don't advertise on either as a general rule. I get enough interest from enough people that I'd not feel comfortable selling a pet rock to just by having my site, that I'd rather not invite more.
I have advertised here a couple of times and the first thing that happens is the emails roll in from those I'd never sell to, then I have an uncomfortable situation on my hands.

I also got a higher quantity of responses to the CW classified. In that quantity there was a proportional increase in goof balls. You know those people we all love to hear from. "I only have $2, can I have your show quality TOV White Ebony? Also, can you drop her off at my doorstep, I live in Siberia?"

Well, I have found wonderful homes for many of my babies,
on Chins & Quills. I do however REALLY miss ChinWorld
Classified very much.
