Did anyone watch PetKeeping with Marc Marrone this morning? He featured Hedgehogs as the newest "fad" pet. It was adorable and his information was very good. But he did mention that dry cat food is too hard and will wear down Hedgehogs' teeth and that a modified Hedgehog food (didn't name any specific brand) was better because it isn't as hard. Has anyone else heard this before?

I watched PetKeeping with Marc Marrone this morning and I taped it. The brand he was useing is brisky's diet for hedgehogs and that food sucks. But I wander if dry cat food is too hard and will wear down Hedgehog's teeth too.

I have had some concerns about cat food being too hard for them. Just watch the struggle some of them have to chew it. :( Unfortunately cat food seems to be the best nutritionally that there is. I don't know what the answer is but I do keep a fairly close watch on how easily they eat it.

Perhaps you could moisten the cat food or break it into smaller pieces? I sometimes think the pieces are too big for them. :)
i always get the giggles when i watch gir munch on her food. nose crinkled up, forehead flinching... so cute! :)

There are different hardnesses of cat foods. Some can't be broken with the fingers, others can. The Chicken Soup foods can be broken between fingers, and I have been feeding it for quite a while and am happy with it.

Aww poo, I can't get it here in Nova Scotia:( That's no fun. Right now i'm feeding Rosie some Atrium cat food, chicken flavor. I wonder if it's ok or if I should be feeding her something else?
