Running in one direction on his wheel?

I just noticed the other day, that Koa always runs the same way on his wheel. I've had him for about 8 months, and have never ever seen him run the other way!!! I was wondering if anyone else's hedgehogs did this?

Although I have seen my hedgie run in both directions she does seem to favor one way in particular.

I wonder if there's any significance to it?

I would guess the muscles are built up on a particular side and the hogs find that way to be easier/more comfortable to run.

Your right, he is running towards his food! hahahah. hmmmmm I might move his food dish and see how that affects his running. interesting.....

I've noticed that some hedgehogs just have a favorite direction: my founding breeder, Serena always wants to go in a northeastwardly direction whenever I let her explore outside, however, from my experience, most hedgehogs are not such monomaniacs about their directions.

It'd be funny if you're hedgehog is just running in the direction of his food :)

funny.......wonder if like...ppl r right handed or left handed....wonder if he prefers one side b/c it is easier for him that way?? he uses the outside end to stay in there... so whichever side that is, that's however handed..i mean pawed he is :)

Throw him off and put the wheel in a horizontal position. see what he does then.
