On Kalandra's site she has an audio of a hedgie making noises.

Barton, I think my hedgie, Alina, has made the kind of noise you're trying to describe. I don't really know what it means; she's only done it on two occasions and I can't really make up my mind if it sounded more like a bird or a mouse....
That being said-oh my! The wav of the male singing to the female sounds a lot like the noise that Alina made...but she is a female. So, I really have no idea why she was making the sound. It sounds something like a mouse pretending to be a seagull.... She would only make the noise once though.

yeah mine has made it a few times and i would think that it was maybe a female mating thing except that she was laying in her bed so that would be weird, and the other time she did it was when she was nuzzaling up to me hmmmm its a mystery

Herby makes those noises but they generally when he is sleeping.. lol I figured he was having a bad dream like involving a giant mealworm trying to get him. He will do it a few times then he will stop.

hmmm maybe it was a mealworm dream or something its funny because i have had hedgehogs off and on for quite awhile but i will manage to learn new things my other hedgekids never made those sounds

I think Chloe has mealworm dreams too  But she doesn't make noises. Sometimes when I am watching tv with her sleeping on my lap I notice that she wiggles her little legs like she is chasing after something. I have seen puppies do this too. Its so cute
